Cottage Holiday

Tommy aged 17 has Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, majority of the left side of his brain missing and Sleep Apnea.

Tommy has never been away as a family and now his condition is stable enough he requested a couple of nights away not too far away from home with a hot tub. We were delighted to grant this wish for Tommy and as you can see from the photos that he looked like he enjoyed his holiday.

Bike & wagon

Rosalea aged 7 has Spina Bifida, Hydrocephalus and is a full time wheelchair user.

Dear Kids in Need
I am writing to thank you for granting the wish for Rosalea.
By purchasing the bike and wagon has allowed Rosalea to participate in activities that her siblings already love and helping her feel like an equal part of the family. Weekend bike rides have now become a shared family experience and gives her the joy of the wind in he hair, the sights of nature and the excitement of going fast. She has already gained more confidence in herself and her mental and emotional health has improved drastically.
Kind regards

Super Mario Bedroom Makeover

Nassiah aged 13 has Autism, Tourettes and learning difficulties.

We agreed to purchase a storage unit, Super Mario storage cubes, curtains and bed with safety siderails. He has always loved Super Mario and his mum thought this would be a good idea to help him get settled in their new family home.

Once the family had moved mum confirmed that Nassiah loves his new room and is settling in very well.

New iPad

Taylor aged 16 has autism.

She has been struggling at college with taking notes during her lessons. The college suggested to her about getting a laptop or iPad to record the lessons on and then listen back through them at home if she missed something or needed something repeating.

I would like to thank everyone on the committee that made my wish come true. It means a lot to me so thank you so much

Mobiquib Pushchair

Stanley aged 8 has Autism, ADHD, Sensory Processing disorder and PDA (Heart Defect).

To Kids in Need,
I wanted to express my gratitude for your most helpful, generous gift of Stanley’s disability pushchair. It has been an absolute god send to have access to a new pushchair for Stanley, as he is Autistic, as you know and has a tenancy to bolt in public places, which has been in the past very dangerous because he has on a few occasions run into the road.

We have just successfully had our first family holiday abroad to Spain and with a lot of forward planning and the aid of Stanley’s wonderful new pushchair it definitely went a lot more smoothly than we expected, with that said I want to say thank you again for the amazing work you do at your charity to help young children with certain needs or disabilities, it really is so wonderful to have been put in contact with you to receive this life changing help.
I say life changing as it really is! Without the aid of the pushchair, we as a family are confined to being at home a lot more as we have a young daughter as well - Harriet who will be 2 in August. So, as you can imagine it’s sometimes very unsafe to venture just round to our local shops, let alone shopping centres, restaurants and airports for example.

Thank you again so much for this wonderful gift from all at Kids in Need it is so amazing and so gratefully received.

I have attached some photos of Stanley in his new “wheels” He calls it his lightning McQueen buggy from Disney cars film. As it is red just like McQueen and when the lovely delivery man delivered the pushchair Stanley made daddy take him for a spin round the block in it straight away. He absolutely loves his new pushchair and it has given him a new found confidence also, to going out in public places more often now, and that’s an absolute huge achievement for Stanley to feel safer whilst we are out and about. The photos I’ve attached are of Stanley at the airport and on our recent holiday to Spain in his lovely new pushchair. The harness is a very well needed addition to the pushchair as well as he does struggle to undo it, which gives me time to notice he is trying to get out, so to stop him unstrapping himself and running off.

On our recent holiday we did get a lot of positive attention from other families staying in our hotel, regarding Stanley’s lovely new pushchair. One family in particular, who had a son with the same diagnosis as Stanley. I could see they were having the same troubles out and about as we were without the new disability pushchair. After a lovely conversation with the woman she asked about your charity and if I could give her your details, so I did give her your email to get in touch and informed her to mention my name if she did. They were an Asian family based in Birmingham and expressed there was very little help or aid in their area. I hope she gets in touch for you to maybe help their family like you have helped ours.

I wanted to say a personal thank you to Sara as well for all her hard work that she put into ordering the pushchair and all the back and forth emails and calls she had to make for this special gift to happen. Your hard work and dedication has made a little boy very happy and given a family a new lease of life to be able to venture out a bit more often now, so thank you from the bottom of our hearts xx

Many Thanks

Caravan Holiday

Charlie aged 10 has severe Autism, Global Development Delay and a benign external hydrocephalus.

I just wanted to say thank you to the charity for getting us this holiday as this is the best holiday we have had in a very very long time. Charlie was very good, slept well and loved the sea. We went to different places, we went in shops, looked around and walked an immense amount of time, which is don’t think he has ever done. So we are entirely grateful for the help the charity gave us.

Animal Experience

Alfie aged 10 has Autism, Pica, Reflux disease and sensory process disorder.

We had such a fantastic time. The leopard experience you paid for went a little wrong as the leopard wasn’t hungry, but they upgraded us to the tigers. So he was abled to feed the tigers which he loved. We cannot thank you all enough for this, it was so generous.
