DAVID POOLE
As one of the five founder members of Kids in Need I have been actively involved now for some 43 years. During this time I have served in various capacities and am the current Chairperson of the Charity.
The whole of my working life was spent in the public sector having been employed in an administrative capacity with the Metropolitan Police.
The experience and skills acquired during my career together with my past and current involvements with both Special Needs Schools and Parent / Teacher Associations have proved invaluable in enabling me to contribute to the valuable work being done by a dedicated team of volunteers on behalf of such a deserving group of young people.

Pam Scammell
I have always been involved in voluntary youth work mainly through Girl Guiding and youth clubs. My early career was in commerce but I had always since childhood wanted to teach so in my early 20s decided to qualify formally.
Once qualified I took up a post as Head of Business Studies and taught Business Studies and Secretarial Skills in the secondary schools sector. I retired as Assistant Head Teacher in a large secondary school in Waltham Forest with responsibilities for premises and finance and support staff and of course some teaching. Schools were just acquiring their own independent budgets and carried responsibity for everything from repairing a broken window to hiring all teaching and support staff. During this time I was also an examiner for the East Anglia Examination Board for a number of years.
I had a dream career and loved it all but when the time came, I decided to retire and make a new beginning. I then became a part time lecturer for the National College for School Leadership and trained school bursars in London and Kent for a number of years.
When I finally retired I became secretary to the Ladies Section of Theydon Bois Golf Club for a number of years and travelled widely.
I have one son and two grandchildren aged 5 and 7.
