Charity Golf Day at Bishops Stortford Raises £7350!

The venue for the second of Kids in Need’s Charity Golf Days was Bishops Stortford Golf Club where a turnout of 91 golfers gathered to enjoy the tremendous facilities, a course that was in superb condition and some glorious weather.

The day began with coffee and bacon rolls before a shot gun start saw everyone embark on an 18 hole individual and team Stableford competition.

In the evening a 4 course meal was followed by entertainment with Ian Richards treating us to his uproarious brand of humour.

The overall winner of the Bernie Hughes Cup was Ben Jaggers with a score of 41 points off a handicap of 8.

Many people contributed to the social and financial success of the day including Barclays Bank who match funded the event; Audi Stansted and GQ Wealth Management who made generous donations; and Premier Contract Flooring who sponsored the trophies for nearest the pin and the longest drive.

The final figure for the amount raised on the day was an amazing £7,350, thanks to the invaluable support of Bishops Stortford GC and all of the golfers who participated on the day.

All in all a wonderful outcome to a very enjoyable occasion and the proceeds of the day will make a significant contribution to our continuing work of granting wishes to this particularly deserving group of children.

Our sincere thanks go to everyone for their generosity and support.

KIN will be back at BSGC next year!
